The 7 core principles to build long-term wealth in crypto (No farming required)
Reputation is the most profitable skill in crypto this year.
Build an algo-resistant brand, and let wealth follow you instead of having to chase it.
To profit, these are the 7 powerful principles you need to adopt immediately:
We’re building a strong reputation for the next wave of airdrops
It’s getting harder for projects to determine who deserves the highest rewards.
Anyone can spin up wallets and social accounts, but what benefit do they give?
In the end, projects will look to distribute their tokens to high-value individuals.
Which is why I see reputation as the endgame for airdrops:
Those with a strong social and onchain footprint will be the biggest winners in the next meta.
This is the biggest differentiator we have to stand out from Sybils.
And that’s how we can continue building wealth constantly:
We’re not looking for short-term cash grabs
There will be those who brag about their insane returns just by ‘yapping’.
Which just means they ‘grinded hard’ on the latest leaderboard with engagement bait.
Yes, they will win the short-term game with their high allocations.
While those who create real, genuine content lose out because they didn’t get enough views.
But we’re playing a completely different game here:
Dopamine yappers are forced to talk about something they hate to get rewards.
They burn out by desperately finding new angles to talk about a project that they don’t even use.
While we’re talking about whatever interests us and building a trusted reputation along the way.
We can post whatever we feel like posting at any point in time, without worrying about our leaderboard rankings.
And there’ll always be someone who reads it because our audience trusts us.
Delayed gratification is key here.
If we can continue building without expecting an immediate return:
We will win the wealth game.
The going is tough, and many will give up.
But those who stay the course will get the most coveted trait of any creator:
We’re building an algo-resistant brand
The noise creators and dopamine yappers fear AI.
All they’re posting is commodity content, which is something that AI can replicate at scale.
Everyone who uses AI in the full content creation process will become a clone.
They would all say the exact same thing, and there’s no way to differentiate one from the other.
So creators who play the volume game will lose out.
But this gives us the unfair advantage to stand out from everyone else:
We just need to be our authentic selves online.
Our experiences and opinions make us unique:
Something that others can resonate with and learn to trust us.
Noise creators heavily rely on the algo to spread their content for maximum reach.
But that is irrelevant for a Signal Creator:
They have a reputation of creating good content consistently that others would actively search for them.
A strong brand is not one that goes viral, it’s one that people actively search for.
Signal Creators don’t need to worry about writing posts that try to ‘please’ the algorithm.
They write knowing that there’ll be an audience for it, who does not wait for the algo to serve the content to them.
And the only way to build algo-resistance is through this action:
We’re giving value freely without expecting results
To receive value, give value first.
Views don’t build wealth, but value does.
So choose to optimise for the right metric.
Signal Creators don’t drip dopamine to our followers.
Instead, we help to improve their lives one way or another.
We create content from a place of service, not validation.
We don’t care about being the most popular or well-liked person:
We’re just solving problems for our former selves and helping those who are facing something similar.
We build trust with others because we:
Can relate to their pain points (because we’ve experienced it before)
Have proof that we know what we’re talking about (because we’ve done the work)
Share our entire journey (the wins and even the failures)
Others will see that we’re someone real, and not just another grifter trying to extract as much as possible.
And we don’t sit around waiting for luck to find us:
We don’t wait for others to spoonfeed us
We can just do things without asking for permission from anyone.
There will be those who wait on the sidelines before someone gives them clear instructions on what to do.
While there are high agency individuals who proactively try things out and learn from their actions.
There’s only so much we can learn by consuming.
But actually doing it gives us more valuable lessons than we could ask for.
Too many are scared of failing, so they prefer waiting for a clear path of success (which will never come).
But once we continuously fail and learn from our mistakes, we build up this skill:
We develop taste by curation
Information is all at our fingertips, so what’s the point of following someone?
The true high-value accounts are ones who show their ability to filter the noise and curate signal.
Judgement is the most coveted skill because our experiences help us to pick out opportunities that give us a high ROI.
This is exactly what happened to me when I started my airdrop journey in 2023:
I learnt how to do airdrops based on the threads I saw on the timeline
I spent a lot of time interacting with airdrops, with some wins and losses
I soon realised that some of these opportunities give a poor ROI on my time, including:
Node airdrops (hardware requirements)
Testnet and GameFi airdrops (huge time sinks)
Point programs (whales will dominate)
I found that retroactive airdrops are the best way to get airdrops because they can’t be easily gamed by Sybils.
There’s no known formula that can be exploited by them, as the criteria will only be released afterwards.
And this came from trial and error:
I had to fail first to realise what is worth my time and what isn’t.
You could go through the same experiences as I and come up with a completely different conclusion:
Our experiences are different and we’ll look at it in a different lens.
There are so many opportunities out there, and it’s up to us to develop a filter while navigating through the noise.
Others will focus on views and engagement, but we are looking to share ideas that resonate.
In a world of noise, we become a beacon of signal.
There will be some who agree with our views, while others would hate on us for them.
And that’s just the way it works:
We can’t please everyone all the time.
As a Signal Creator, we find what we believe in and talk about it consistently on the timeline, regardless of what others think.
Something that we’re truly interested in, and not just for the rewards.
There’s no need to shill a project just to get a reward.
Especially when we’re just doing this:
We’re just doing things onchain and sharing what we did
Our Twitter profile is just a journal, nothing more.
We are writing to our former selves and teaching them everything that we learn.
This includes:
Documenting whatever we did and why we chose to do it
Reflecting on the results and what can be improved
Sharing authentic ideas with the world and letting the algo spread it to those who resonate with it the most.
And it all starts with doing something onchain.
If you don’t have proof that you did it, then no one will trust you.
Faking PnL and allocation screenshots can only get you so far.
We increase our luck surface area by both doing and saying, and we position ourselves for more success.
